Philosophy

I believe in the ability of students to write well. I see my role as a writing coach and, as with any coachable event, I know that writing improves as it is practiced with clear goals and direction. I don’t do the writing for students, but rather work to give kids the skills to bring their own best thinking and writing to current assignments and those they will encounter in the future.  My aim is to help students figure out what’s being asked of them and how to successfully approach and ultimately complete any writing task. 

Whether it’s the college essay, a research paper, or a paragraph response, I’m excited to help students develop writing confidence and fully realize the power of their own writer’s voice.
